Title: Night and Water
Author: [personal profile] spacemutineer
Rating: PG-13
Characters: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Warnings: water and fire danger, injury
Word Count: 6000
Summary: The greatest heights of danger and discovery await the detective and the doctor on the Dutch steamship Friesland.

By the time they found themselves out on the deck, the ship was beginning to list toward starboard, and already unsteady movement became ever more so. Holmes scanned the deck for options. At first, all he could see was the tilting, smoky bow, the moaning wind, the waves of the choppy, livid ocean. And of course, the two of them. Beyond lay the safety of land and aid, the far windows alluringly bright and shimmering in the overwhelming dark. In between there was only night and water, so much night and so much water, all of it black and deep and unforgiving.

"You should be sleeping, you know." )

Rating: NC-17
Warnings: angst, voyeurism without consent
Prompt: from the kmeme
Author's notes: Unbetaed, my apologies. And wow, this is not my usual thing at all. I'm not quite sure where it came from, as the prompt was not even close to my usual either. But here it is.
Summary: If the existence of a lover for Watson was obvious and unsurprising, discovering Watson’s newfound partner was in fact a man came as a bolt of lightning from the open sky.

Title: The Land of the Living
Author: [livejournal.com profile] spacemutineer
Word Count: 5827
Characters: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: angst, suicide ideation

Summary: Empty House AU. Watson recognized Holmes in his bookseller's disguise, but it wasn't the first time he had seen him since returning from Reichenbach Falls. He was determined to ensure that it was the last time, however, no matter how much he wished otherwise.

Author's notes: This is an AU blend of both canon and Granada's versions of The Empty House, a remix of sorts of Timing, a terrific piece by [livejournal.com profile] random_nexus, combined with a lovely prompt from the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] methylviolet10b (who also did a spectacular job as beta/midwife -- thank you!).

Fic: Steam

Title: Steam
Author: spacemutineer
Word Count: 1792
Characters: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Rating: PG
Warnings/genres: UST, H/C
Prompt from shkinkmeme: "Holmes and Watson play a game. It's wrapped around Hurt and Comfort. Holmes maybe allows himself to be injured a little too often, just to feel Watson's hands ghosting across his skin, just to feel him lean in close, his heart beating under his clothes and brow furrowed, attention concentrated just on him. Watson hates it when Holmes is injured. Hates it and loves it, even as he hates himself, because it means he gets to see that body stripped bare and he gets to touch without it being unseemly, feel the heat of it against his hands and pretend for just a moment that Holmes is his.
Teal Deer: H/C UST on both sides"
Author's notes: The idea for the unusual structure of this one made it both fantastically interesting to write and at the same time an enormous amount of frustration. In the end, it is much simpler than I originally had in mind, but that's probably a good thing and for the best.

Title: Adagio for Violin
Author: spacemutineer
Word Count: 861
Characters: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/genres: UST, angst
Summary: The violin is a conduit, his form of expression for what cannot be said.
Author's notes: This is a Granada-verse story and was inspired by Adagio for Tron by Daft Punk from the Tron Legacy soundtrack. It is an exquisite piece and I couldn't help imagining Holmes playing it silhouetted against the window of their sitting room at night, particularly the beautiful violin solo at the end (about 3:07 in the YT video).
