Prompts?

Well, it's a new month, and time for a new game cooked up by resident genius/lunatic [livejournal.com profile] methylviolet10b. She's taking prompts for the month of September and has invited others to join in the fun too.

Sounded like a fine idea to me. I need to get my butt into gear and get some pieces finished and posted for a change, so let's do this thing. If you have an idea for a prompt, I'd love to hear it. I will definitely write and post at least one piece this month based on a prompt here. Got any good ideas drifting around? I'd be most appreciative for them. Prompt away, if you please!

Oh, and of course, please join us if you like! [livejournal.com profile] methylviolet10b's rules are simple: Make a post titled "Prompts?" and commit to one prompt-inspired fic for the month. And if you can throw a few spare prompts the way of the other players, that would be much appreciated too. So what do you say? Let's have some fun!

Hello, everyone! Wanted to check in, say hello, and give a hearty welcome to our newcomers. [livejournal.com profile] methylviolet10b and I are so happy you're joining us for our little storytelling adventure!

We had a wonderful response to week 1: The Abbey Grange, and we got six entries. You can find links to all of them below. Great work, everyone!

This was such a fantastic start. It's fascinating to see what different story elements catch each author reading the same story. Don't miss any of them!

60for60 takes on The Abbey Grange by author:

Very much looking forward to this Sunday (3/7/11), and The Beryl Coronet! Everyone is welcome to join us, so if you know someone who might be interested, please pass it along. Also wonderful would be artwork, so please, any artists: you are more than welcome to join us as well! Come on, it'll be fun!

Now, a question for you all. Would you like me to post our results on [livejournal.com profile] dispatch_box? Is that something everyone wants? I could post all the entries I can find for the week on Saturday, and announce along with them that we start the new round the next day on Sunday. What do you all think? I'm leaning towards doing it, so if it's not something you're comfortable with, please let me know. Thanks, everyone! See you Sunday!

I'd like to invite anyone reading this to join [livejournal.com profile] methylviolet10b and me on a brand-new, slightly insane but fantastic little adventure. We're calling it 60 for 60. 60 words (or one sentence, your choice) for each of the 60 canon stories by Arthur Conan Doyle.

It's going to be great fun, and easy too. Once a week, on Sundays, we'll be posting a very small ficlet based on just one of the original canon case stories (all of which are available online free!). Just 60 words or one single sentence once a week. Everyone with their own little take on a classic story of our detective, his doctor, and their vibrant world for everyone else to enjoy. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? And don't feel like you're committed to anything -- post just the weeks you feel like it! But [livejournal.com profile] methylviolet10b and I are in for the full 60, so you'll always have at least two little stories for your Sundays, posted on our respective journals.

So won't you consider joining us? You love Sherlock Holmes and fanfiction. You wouldn't be reading this if you didn't. Give it a thought. Join us. Let's have fun reading and writing together!

Drop a comment if you're interested, and I'll see you next Sunday (6/25/11) for 60 for 60!

ETA: Coming in late? No problem! Just check out the schedule below and feel free to jump in and out as you like.

(Schedule of canon stories follows under the cut. We're going in alphabetical order to mix things up a bit.)
